Joseph Howland’s gift to the community in 1872 keeps on giving today as a home for the visual and performing arts.

The Howland Cultural Center is a Beacon-based nonprofit organization with a multifaceted nature. We promote arts and culture, both by producing our own events and by presenting those sponsored by others. We preserve and operate the historic 1872 Howland Circulating Library building as a center for arts and cultural activities. We also make space available to selected community groups and rent space for private events.
